welcome

Clonmellon is an enchanting old world village on the Westmeath / Meath border. Sat-Nav co-ordinates  Lat: 53.664310 Lon: -7.018976 The village is located approximately 50 miles Northwest of Dublin.  Situated to the east of the village are the ruins of Killua Castle, built in 1780 and reputed to be the birth place of Laurence of Arabia. Close by is a monument commemorating the introduction of the potato into Ireland by Sir Walter Raleigh. The village consists of one large main street with no less than 5 pubs, 2 shops, a garage and restaurant.  Clonmellon is home to approx 1000 people living both in and around the small village.

We are less than 5 Kilometres from Crossakiel (famous for the yearly Kells Motorbike Road Races.) This website was setup to help promote local businesses and to provide a portal for residents regarding local news and information relating to Clonmellon and surrounding areas.

Clonmellon.com was started in 2003 to put our village on the map.

The site has been  maintained since 2003 to the present by Steven McKenna. The site has had many facelifts from its original design into the site you are now browsing.

We have added a Guestbook an Event guide and article publisher to encourage viewers to subscribe and get involved adding content to the site.

We have also added several additional features for registered members, These features will appear in the Side Menu once a member logs in.

You can now submit your photos (max 250Kb per image) which will be added to your own gallery.  We were going to have an automated system where users could upload their own images but decided against it, so once a registered member sends in an image we will create a folder in the gallery and images will be posted there.

If you have something to say, something to add, something you want others to know about then why not post it on Clonmellon.com after all Clonmellon.com is your site!

There is no fee to join this site, all running costs are paid for by Steven McKenna.
