I will be visiting Clonmellon and the surrounding area soon, and I would like to learn more about the following individuals who I believe are my ancestors:
Elizabeth Lacy, wife of Patrick Maguire, gave birth to Patrick Maguire shortly before 27 Sep 1762 when he was baptized in Clonmellon.
Catherine Fitzsimons, wife of Patrick Maguire, gave birth to William Maguire shortly before 26 Mar 1789 when he was baptized in Clonmellon. They were residents of Brownstown at the time.
Owen Sheridan and Bridget Fitzsimons, both residents of Kilallon, were married on 28 Jan 1788 in Clonmellon.
Bridget Fitzsimons, wife of Owen Sheridan, gave birth to Mary Sheridan shortly before 13 Mar 1789 when she was baptized in Clonmellon. They were residents of Archestown at the time.
William Maguire of Kilallon and Mary Sheridan of Laughandhy (sp?) were married on 11 Jan 1808 in Clonmellon.
Mary Sheridan, wife of William Maguire, gave birth to Thomas Maguire shortly before 9 Aug 1809 when he was baptized in Collinstown.
Subsequently, William and Mary Maguire left the Clonmellon area. They may have had a child (Patrick) in Clonmel, County Tipperary in 1810. They definitely had a child (William) in 1825 in Dublin. They also had two other sons, Christopher and James, whose years and places of birth I do not know. By 1830, they had left Ireland for Adelaide, Ontario, Canada where they had a daughter, Cecily. They lived in the Adelaide area for twenty years before emigrating to the United States where they settled in Monroe, Wisconsin. After William's death there, Mary moved with her daughter and family to northern Iowa where she died. |
