![]() CB Radio - it's back!
Due to the current economic climate and the cost of topping up mobile phones, a new wave of interest in CB radio has developed. There were also a large number of the motorist with CB radio's in their cars/vans/trucks.
With the economy on a downward spiral, CB radio has now started to take off once again. For those of you who remember the eighties, CB radios were the mobile phones and Facebook of there time. CB brought people together. Once you bought and set up the equipment there were no ongoing costs like those associated with mobile phones. Nothing was held close to your head so no chance of your brain absorbing harmful radiation. CB and Amateur radio retailers have noticed an increase in sales due to the economic climate. The basic cost of a mobile CB radio is around €120 approximately. To have a homebase setup would cost around €180 approximately.
