Cold start to December. (30/11/'10)

Clonmellon has been turned into a crisp clean Christmas postcard.  With a couple of inches of snow and sub-zero temperatures most areas have been transformed into a giant playground for the young people of the area.  Roads have also suffered from a coating of the white stuff and some motorists have reported  slippy conditions on secondary roads.  The Athboy road has also been reported as quite slippery in places but passable with extreme caution.

The M3 was also reported at 7am as passable but with icy conditions between Trim and Clonee.  With plenty more snow eapected it is advisable to stock up on the essentials.  Please also spare a thought for elderly neighbours and do call in and make sure they are warm enough and have enough food supplies, remember if you slip on the snow it may mean a bruise but if an elderly person slips it may mean a broken limb.
